Situation: Ally’s in-house creative team was responsible for designing and developing digital asset extensions of marketing campaigns and promotions ranging from social media ads, landing pages, banner ads and emails across eight lines of business.

The current structure of the design and development process was inefficient and could not sustain the volume and velocity needed to support marketing needs.

Insight: To increase efficiencies, we needed to minimize bottlenecks and improve team collaboration.

Solution: We implemented a “Kanban” system to create a visual workflow so we could easily identify blockers and balance the workload. This allowed us to prevent task overload and prioritize effectively. We implemented daily standup routines and intake and review forums directly with our marketing partners and legal and compliance, which created greater transparency and accountability.

What we accomplished: Within the first year of fully implementing the Kanban system and other process enhancements, we were able to more than double the monthly output of digital assets – designing, developing and QA testing close to 150 digital assets each month.
